- OCQG President’s Quilt- Paper Pieced Patterns- I created the following paper pieced patterns to use for Carolyn's quilt. They are mainly the paper pieced templates with a "picture" of the complete paper pieced unit (very little instruction). Sew each group (aka, Letter) first: lowest number to highest number. Then sew the groups together in the order described in the pattern. I included a couple of YouTube videos below with paper piecing tutorials (not for my patterns; but you should get the idea). - There are templates to print the paper pieced patterns on letter or legal sized paper. If you print on legal size, you can get most of the individual units on one page. If you use letter sized paper, you will need to tape some of the unit pieces (spread across more than one page) together. Either way works! - Remember to print at "Actual Size" or at 100% of size to obtain the block in the stated size! You can decrease the size if you want a smaller block. - You will need to create the cover or spine of your book(s) first (however you like - add a Title, Author, Picture, etc.). Then put that completed cover/spine into the paper pieced unit. - Remember, if you don't want to paper piece, no problem! Create your own block by use of piecing, applique, or other quilt block methods! In fact, the vertical and horizontal books are probably easier by cutting out rectangles, sewing some background on each end, and then piecing them together! Have fun! - I have tried to do my best in creating these patterns. If you find any issues, please let me know and I will fix ASAP. Also, if you have any questions, please let me know. - Sandy - Leaning Book Spines - If you want the books leaning the opposite way, Just "flip" or "mirror image" when printing. - Video on paper piecing each unit (aka, letter group for my patterns) - Video on paper piecing each unit (aka, letter group for my patterns) plus putting the paper pieced units together.
